Hope From A Hurricane

How can you build hope after a hurricane? Detrix Hamilton recounts his experience last year of Hurricane Dorian and the Bahamas' response, ahead of this year's hurricane season.

Detrix Hamilton (a promising architect) remembers when hurricanes were part and parcel of life in The Bahamas. Aside from a freak storm in the 1990s, the hurricane season was a mild inconvenience and an occasional day off from school.

However, last year on the 1st of September, Hurricane Dorian hit the Bahamas. This category five hurricane ripped through the islands until the 3rd of September, causing an estimated $3.4 billion worth of damage.

We met with Detrix to tell his unique story of how he is building back better following a climate change related disaster.
